The offering

Vibrocrete is the fastest way to get a boundary wall standing: precast posts and panels on a prepared footing, up in a day or two on most residential runs. Plastered and painted it reads as a masonry wall at a fraction of the build time.

The system is simple, which is its advantage. Slotted precast posts are set on a footing and concrete panels drop between them, so a long boundary goes up in a fraction of the time a brick wall takes and without the wet trades a brick wall brings onto the site.

Height is built up in panels, and the top panel can be flat, moulded or finished with a coping. Where the wall carries electric fencing we set the brackets into the posts as part of the build rather than drilling them in afterwards, which is what cracks a panel.

Left raw, vibrocrete looks like what it is. Most of our clients have it plastered and painted, which closes the panel joints and gives a continuous wall that matches the house. It can also be bagged, clad in stone, or planted against with a creeper on a wire frame. The plaster coat is also what turns a functional boundary into something that carries garden lighting well.

Ground conditions decide the footing. On the sandy soils of the Cape Flats and much of the West Coast a deeper footing is not optional, and on a sloping site the wall is stepped rather than raked. We set that out before anything is cast.
